THE PROCESS IS SIMPLE:
1) SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
Click here to schedule an appointment through our online booking system and we will send you everything you need to be ready for you first visit.
If you have any questions, if you’re unsure if acupuncture and/or herbal medicine are right for you, or if you want help booking an appointment, give us a call. We are happy to answer questions about conditions we frequently treat and appointments at our office. We can also help you schedule a free 15 minute consult with the acupuncturist so you can talk with them about your specific condition and how we can help you.
2) DETAILED ASSESSMENT & TREATMENT PLAN
At your first appointment the acupuncturist will do a thorough assessment of your stress patterns, medical history, other factors, and most importantly discuss your goals with you to identify the root cause of your stress, anxiety, or depression and devise the right treatment approach for you.
After this assessment, you will receive your first acupuncture treatment — most people get so relaxed they lose track of time or fall asleep — and you will be given a treatment plan with simple, easy-to-follow instructions. Your treatment plan may include herbal medicine, dietary, and lifestyle adjustments to address the root of your stress, anxiety, or depression.
3) START FEELING BETTER
You’ll start with regular visits, usually twice a week, to ensure close support as you begin to feel your nervous system and body establishing a new pattern. We want to make sure your treatment plan is providing you with:
- Calmer and less reactive feelings
- Improved sleep
- Better focus and mental clarity
- Improved mood and emotional resilience
- Relief for your other symptoms triggered by stress
- More “good days” — energy, mood, stamina
In most cases patients feel more grounded and clear after 1-3 treatments. You’ll start to feel your relief lasting longer and enjoy more time doing the things you love. Once we see improvements maintaining over time, we will start spacing visits out to once a week. This usually occurs after 6 visits with some individual variability.
As your nervous system is rebalancing to return to its original pattern of health, you’ll notice a new level of wellbeing and resiliency. This usually occurs after 8-12 visits. We’ll continue to spread the treatments apart to every other week, every 3 weeks, and once a month, then on an as-needed basis for “tuneups”.
We are here for you, in case you have other healthcare issues you want to address, or feel like you are prone to more stress during a particular time or activity. Of course, many of our patients want to continue with regular maintenance, and we are always happy to work with you on that level, if that is your wish.
